RIZZANI DE ECCHER HAS WON A CONTRACT FOR THE CREATION OF A MIXED-USE CENTRE IN LUGANO, SWITZERLAND
29/11/2017

Rizzani de Eccher was awarded the contract for the construction of the Mixed-use Centre in Lugano, in the Pregassona district of Switzerland, in association with the local company Garzoni SA.
The assignment amounts to a total of 31 million Swiss Francs, following a complex tender that saw the participation of leading Swiss companies.
The building will be constructed in 38 months on behalf of the Lugano Municipality and will host a 114-bed residence for the elderly, a day centre for people affected by dementia, a kindergarten and the new SAS offices (Social Assistance Services) of the City of Lugano.
The facility, which will be built according to the design of the Studio Mario Campi Architetto, covers a surface of 12,000 sq.m. on 5 floors, characterised by a concrete structure and a casement made of glazed windows and a matt finish obtained with metal enamelled panels and composite material, plus 5,600 sq. m of outdoor and green areas and 68 outdoor car spaces.
The outdoor area features a large green zone, designed as a public park accessible along the entire perimeter of the building. The park is available both to residents and to the entire neighbourhood and takes on the role of significant social interaction space that also provides easy access to pedestrians crossing the different parts of the neighbourhood. The park features a play area for children and a water surface that delimits the public area from the zone reserved for residents of the facility.
The delivery of the finished work is scheduled for February 2021.
